UsesGlycinamide hydrochloride is a buffer that is useful in the physiological pH range. And it is also used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, in the organic synthesis.
UsesGlycinamide hydrochloride may be used in the synthesis of [M(glycinamidato-N,N′)(ptpy)2] where ptpy = 2-(p-tolyl)pyridinato) and M= Rh or Ir. It may be used in the synthesis of the following glycinamide-based imidazolidinones:
  • (±)-2-(2-phenylpropyl)imidazolidin-4-one
  • (±)-2-(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)imidazolidin-4-one
