Description	Hexyl 2-methylbutyrate has a strong, green, fruity odor and a sweet, fruity taste reminiscent of unripe strawberry. May be synthesized by esterification of n-hexanol with 2 -methylbutanoic acid.

Preparation	By esterification of n-hexanol with 2-methylbutanoic acid
